ETPharma reported on 6 October that Aragen Life Sciences, a contract research, development and manufacturing organisation, has brought into operation Aragen OneHP, an integrated development and manufacturing platform for peptides and antibody-drug conjugates at its Nacharam campus in Hyderabad, India. The platform adds capabilities for highly potent molecules and an active-ingredient manufacturing line with an annual capacity of 500 to 600 kg. Separately, Contract Pharma reported on 7 October that Ofichem has agreed to acquire Kinentia Biosciences, a drug-substance contract manufacturer based in Rensselaer, New York. According to the report, the deal adds expertise in small peptides, polysaccharides and complex new chemical entities to Ofichem's offering.
Research context (RUO). Both announcements concern the middle of the production chain rather than any single product. Aragen's platform covers development through manufacturing for highly potent molecules, while Ofichem's drug-substance business is to run across New York, Ter Apel in the Netherlands and Uppsala in Sweden once the deal completes, giving customers more choice over where development and manufacturing take place. Neither announcement concerns a specific peptide. For laboratories the context is unchanged: access to well-characterised research-grade peptide material depends on synthesis, purification and analytical capacity, and on documentation such as certificates of analysis.
