RUO stands for Research Use Only. It means the reagents and compounds listed in our catalog are sold exclusively for laboratory research, in-vitro testing, and analytical purposes. They are not intended for human consumption, clinical diagnosis, therapeutic use, or any application governed by medical or food safety regulations. All BioLabs Research products carry a RUO label and are accompanied by documentation that supports research-grade use.
A Certificate of Analysis is a laboratory document for a specific production lot. BioLabs Research issues a lot COA on request when a file exists for that lot. A COA is only as strong as the method, wavelength, laboratory name, and lot ID printed on it. This page does not invent HPLC, MS, residual-solvent, or endotoxin results.
Analytical results live on the lot COA when a file is issued. Until that file is published for a SKU, we do not claim HPLC, mass spectrometry, residual-solvent, or endotoxin testing on this site. See the Science notes for how to read a lot document.
HPLC separates components of a sample; peak area is a method-dependent estimate, not a universal purity grade. BioLabs Research does not publish a catalog-wide purity number (including 98% or higher) without a lot, method, and wavelength. Read the Science notes before treating any area% as identity.
Lyophilized (freeze-dried) peptides should be stored at -20C in a sealed container, protected from light and moisture. Once reconstituted with the appropriate solvent (as directed in the COA), the working solution should be aliquoted and stored at -20C or below. Avoid repeated freeze-thaw cycles. Always follow the storage instructions provided with each lot's COA.
Reconstitution is a standard bench procedure. Add the appropriate volume of sterile solvent (typically bacteriostatic water, sterile acetic acid, or PBS, depending on the peptide) to the vial. Allow the lyophilized cake to dissolve gently without vigorous shaking. The specific solvent and concentration are noted on the COA for each lot. This is a laboratory procedure to be performed only by qualified research personnel.
