Researchers at the Technical University of Munich and Helmholtz Munich reported in Nature Synthesis on 12 October photocatalytic tetrapeptides that place pyroglutamic-acid substrate recognition and a thioxanthone photocatalytic amino acid on a sub-750 Da scaffold. The catalysts were used for photochemical deracemization and enantioselective [2 + 2] photocycloaddition under visible light. The paper is a synthetic photocatalysis methods study, not a clinical report.

Researchers at Princeton University reported in Nature Synthesis on 13 October a general rhodium-catalysed intramolecular transannular macrocyclization for tryptophan-crosslinked macrocyclic peptides. A dual-function nucleophilic pyridyl directing group, selected with mechanistic and computational guidance, can be installed, carried through peptide coupling and removed after cyclization. Demonstrations include the pharmacophores of micitide 982 and tryglysin as synthesis targets. The work is a chemical methods paper.

Researchers at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill reported in the Journal of the American Chemical Society on 13 October that mRNA-display macrocyclic peptides can block the CHD4 SANT-SLIDE interaction with GATAD2A CR2 and pointed to a second CHD4 site that binds CDK2AP1. They purified and determined a structure of the CHD4–GATAD2A–CDK2AP1 ternary complex. The paper is structural and screening methods work on purified protein domains.

Researchers at the Gwangju Institute of Science and Technology and Sungshin Women's University reported in RSC Advances (Crossref record created 13 October) amphipathic peptoid transporters whose cellular uptake depends on sequence. The peptoids promoted accumulation of proteins and PLGA nanoparticles in monolayer cells and in 3D spheroids under laboratory assay conditions. The paper is a materials and in-vitro delivery methods study.

Researchers at Novo Nordisk R&D reported in RSC Medicinal Chemistry (Crossref record created 8 October) a comprehensive benchmark of AI and machine-learning tools for structure prediction of cyclic peptides, covering conformer prediction and ranking protocols. The study is a computational methods comparison for laboratories that model constrained peptide shapes. It does not report wet-lab or clinical programmes.
